I swapped to raw feeding after I had a kitten who was consistently having gut issues, that weren't improving after multiple vet trips and many food swaps (trying different vet recommended pet food from "big box" providers - expensive but no improvement). Now both my cats are on a raw diet, and they both seem happier and healthier. Their coats are smooth and shiny, they seem to wee more (they are better hydrated), and their poos are smaller (less filler in the food).
Their main meal consists of the Raw Meow Mix with with chopped up chicken (or kangaroo or turkey on occasion), with added egg yolks for hairball management. The Complete Meals are very handy as a supplement to this – they make feeding more diverse and interesting. They are also handy because they don’t require prior freezing or bulk prep – so if I have forgotten to defrost the Raw Meow Mix the day before or haven’t made another batch in time, then the Complete Meals are a good back up, so I don’t get caught out. I like to leave a small bowl of Complete Meal when I am away at work and also overnight – so they can “graze” as needed. I also freeze chicken necks for them, and they get these to chew on.
I am very grateful to have this option from a local company who genuinely cares about the health of our cats and improving their quality of life (as opposed to the large multinationals who care little for pet health and focus only on their bottom line - making things as cheaply as possible with as many cheap fillers and cheap proteins as possible). I wish more vets would highlight the benefits of raw feeding and prescribe this, rather than recommending brands like Royal Canin and Hills Science Diet. It would have saved me a lot of stress and heart ache if I had known about it sooner. Excellent product - thank you for your hard work - it isn't easy being a small business owner, but it is so valuable to our local economy and local community to support many small business rather than a few giant ones. I transitioned both my cats when they were young (about 1 year old) and with very little difficulty. Neither of my cats are particularly food motivated, but they are always excited come feeding time for this product. They have particularly enjoyed the kangaroo & pork, and the goat.
