Raw feeding gives you control over exactly what goes into your cat's bowl. The challenge is that plain muscle meat alone is not a complete diet. Cats need calcium, organ content, specific vitamins, and a range of minerals that muscle meat simply does not provide in the right amounts. Working that out from scratch means either a lot of research or a lot of guessing.
Raw Meow Mix takes that part off your plate.
It is a powder you mix with water, then stir through plain boneless muscle meat at the correct ratio. The result is a nutritionally balanced raw meal without requiring you to source and measure a long list of separate ingredients yourself.
The original Adult formula was developed by nutritionists at Massey University in New Zealand. The subsequent formulas were developed by Denis M'Gee BSc, MAgSc, RAnNutr and Anna Sutton PhD RAusNutr. All formulas meet AAFCO nutrient levels for their intended life stages when combined with muscle meat at the correct ratio.
Which formula is right for your cat
Raw Meow Mix Adult is the standard formula for healthy adult cats from around 12 months of age, or from 2 years for large breed cats. If your cat is a healthy adult, this is the one.
Raw Meow Mix Kitten has elevated calcium and phosphorus to support growing bones and developing bodies. It is for kittens, pregnant cats, and nursing cats.
Raw Meow Mix Low has reduced phosphorus and protein with added fibre. It is not for healthy adult cats or kittens. If you are considering this formula, it is because a specific dietary situation calls for it.
Raw Meow Mix Hypo uses novel proteins. It is designed for cats with suspected food intolerances or those going through an elimination diet to investigate a suspected allergy.
Raw Meow Mix Neutral contains no animal protein or animal-derived ingredients in the powder itself, for cats where that restriction applies.
