Raw Meow Mix is a powdered meal completer designed to be added to plain, boneless muscle meat to create a balanced raw meal for cats.

There are formulas for adult cats, kittens, and all life stages, including options for cats who need a simpler or more limited ingredient approach.

Depending on the formula, Raw Meow Mix contains freeze dried Australian liver, Australian egg yolk, calcium, New Zealand green lipped mussel powder, and a carefully balanced blend of essential vitamins and minerals.

All you need to add is plain, boneless muscle meat and water as directed.

Raw Meow Mix (Low Phosphorus Chicken Liver) for Adult Cats is a powdered supplement formulated to meet the nutritional needs of cats requiring a low phosphorus, low sodium diet and is NOT suitable for healthy adult cats or kittens.

Our Low Phosphorus Mix had added psyllium husk to assist with constipation, turmeric powder as an anti-inflammatory agent, spinach & wheatgrass for antioxidant properties, and extra vitamin E.

It has also been formulated to meet the nutrient levels established by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for maintenance in adults when added to muscle meats at the correct rate and as directed.

Considerations for Cats with Low Phosphorus Needs

When feeding a cat that requires a low-phosphorus diet, both the type of protein and fat content are key. Raw Meow Mix Low is designed as a lower phosphorus completer, but it’s most effective when combined with low-phosphorus, higher-fat meats. Healthy cats typically need about 10% fat in their diet (30% DMB), and cats with kidney issues often benefit from a similar or slightly higher fat content. Be mindful that increasing fat too much can result in softer stools.

Our top recommendation is to use chicken thigh (with skin on) as the base protein, as it is one of the lowest-phosphorus meats available. For cats that don’t favor chicken, try adding a small amount of another protein to enhance flavor.

Avoid using high-phosphorus proteins like kangaroo, which also has low fat content, as it may not meet the nutritional goals for cats requiring low phosphorus.

When paired with chicken thigh, Raw Meow Mix Low achieves an approximate phosphorus level of 0.6% DMB, (1.1gm/kcal) making it an ideal choice for cats with low-phosphorus dietary needs.

Adult Cats need to eat 2 - 4% of their body weight daily, over 3-5 meals. The amount varies according to age & activity level.

When feeding a cat with low phosphorus requirements, the protein you use is important, as is the fat level of the meals you feed.

Low Mix is a lower phosphorus meal completer, but to get the best out of this you should add it to a lower phosphorus, higher fat meat. Healthy cats require about 10% fat in their diet (30% DMB) and cats with kidney issues can go to even twice that.

Our recommendation is to make the base of your meals with Low Mix using chicken thigh with skin on. Chicken thigh is the lowest phosphorus protein. It is advisable to feed using this protein to keep the levels as low as possible. If your cat is not a fan of chicken, you could try a small amount of another protein into the mix to assist with taste.

Roo is one of the highest in phosphorus as well as the lowest in fat so it is a protein we recommend you do not use with Low Mix.

Raw Meow Mix Low plus chicken thigh (which is the lowest phosphorus muscle meat) will give you a pho level of approx. 0.62% DMB.;
